The ČSM Mine Announced the “Safe Team“ Competition
STONAVA – Safety First! The slogan of the campaign for a shaft free from accidents and injuries which is an integral part of the PERSPektiva 2015 programme should be constantly repeated but something specific should also be done to achieve this objective. Therefore, in the ČSM Mine they came up with the new quarterly competition under the name of the Safe Team.
“It is aimed at the enhancement of safety at work, at the improvement of workplace safety conditions and at the identification of risks. The calendar quarter will be the decisive period for the assessment,“ said BOZP Petr Vavrečka, Safety and Health at Work Officer, adding that the prize will consist of a financial reward. All teams consisting both of the company’s and any supplier’s employees can participate.
They will compete in the following categories: the stoping section, the preparation section, auxiliary sections - the operation, other mining divisions and surfaces divisions. “The condition for winning the prize is quite simple: a clean record of accidents in the period under review,“ said Vavrečka. He added that, of course, the objective is a decreased accident rate.
In the event that there is no accident free team in the quarter under review, "auxiliary criteria" will be applied: the results of safety mine descents and a total number of recorded and registered accidents or suspended workplaces …

Company code of ethics
The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
