PASKOV MINE– If the Paskov Mine had had to purchase completely new TH (Touissant – Heitzmann) supports, the costs would have reached an amount somewhere between thirty and forty million Czech Crowns. However, the Paskov Mine did not have to! The issue was taken care of by the renovation workshops located in Staříč and Chlebovice. The last workshop was built within the Continuous Improvement Project, and in the period between the end of October and end of February, they fixed 567 complete supports there.
“We have already introduced the machinery standstill due to machinery renovation and straightening of TH supports also at Level IV of Staříč Mine. It was caused due to a higher number of mining field liquidations just at that level. And as such, we do not have to relocate and move so many materials between the individual levels,” explained Jiří Zátopek, Head of P4 Section – Preparation Equipment and Liquidation. He is a co-author of this good idea, approved within the Continuous Improvement Project, together with René Gadatsch, Head of Mine Transportation and Radovan Lýsek, Material Manager.
Apart from the straighteners, put into operation in the Staříč Mine in autumn 2009, there are also renovation workshops for TH supports at Levels III and V. At level II, there is a workshop working for “other components” – TH joints, braces, bolts, chains, “duflex” piping, ZD 24 components. TH supports are also being renovated at Level III in Chlebovice.
“Last year, the reuse of TH supports represented 32.3 percent. It is approximately the same quantity as two years ago, when we however had higher operating metrage,” said Lýsek, Material Manager, adding that the said commodity really represents significant funds within the mine economics. “A benefit consists in the fact that the component renovation costs no more than one half of the costs incurred in case a new component was bought. We have calculated it, taking into account labour, going down and up the mine, energy consumption, salaries, personnel’s snacks, ... “ declared the Head of P4 Section.
