LAZY – A unique operation has been completed by the Mining Technical Service equipment and liquidation personnel of the Karviná Mine. In the period of 12 February to 12 March, i.e. over 29 operating days, using the so-called direct relocation method, they moved en bloc 106 sections of the largest and heaviest mechanized support in the OKD history – Bucyrus DBT 2800/6000. As per the technical documentation, the outer sections of this support reach the weight of 39.3 tons.
From Coalface 139 704-1 to Coalface 139 706, along 1,100 metres, two DLZ 110 F locomotives relocated the support along the suspension single-track ZD 24 HMZ TDS. The two locomotives were applied so as to ensure the required traction and efficient braking at the variable inclination of the track, which reached 12 degrees. To load the sections, the hydraulic lifting equipment HMZ TDS 20 DUO with a load-carrying capacity of 40 tons was used.
The relocation event was attended by the Mining Technical Service workers of both the mining plants of Karviná Mine, and as needed, also by 40 to 60 workers of the mining sections, i.e. a total of approximately 230 people. “And they really formed a great team which deserves great appreciation,” Ladislav Balon, Head of Mining Technical Service 2 Department, Lazy Mining Plant, Karviná Mine appreciated the work carried out by his co-workers.
