OSTRAVA – The OKD employees were deeply touched by the tragedy experienced by the Polish nation after the governmental plane crash. On behalf of the whole company, the members of the top management expressed their sympathy with all Polish people when they, headed by Klaus-Dieter Beck, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, affixed their signatures to the Book of Condolence in the Polish Consulate in Ostrava on Monday, 12 April 2010:
“On this occasion, I would like to express our deep regret over the tragedy which affected the whole Poland on Saturday, 9 April 2010. We really grieved for the news of the death of the Polish President, his wife and other leading representatives - in our mines, we work with hundreds of Polish colleagues. I would like to express them my deepest sympathy and convey condolences of all the OKD employees. At this difficult moment, we sympathize with all of you,” said Klaus-Dieter Beck.

The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
